Stainless Steel Leaf Springs Adjustment Procedure

Swanstrom adjustable stainless springs are welded in place under the foam plastic to assure proper position and alignment. Tension is factory set to what we believe is ideal for most people. If you wish to adjust spring pressure:

1. Before adjusting, try adding a drop or two of oil to the joint. Oil alone may allow the joint to work more freely.
2. If spring adjustment is needed, prevent pull on the spring by applying thumb pressure over base of spring.
3. Grasp exposed spring with long nose pliers, bend spring away from handle for more tension and bend toward the handle for less tension.
4. Repeat on other spring to match.
